Week of April 27th: Library Class Activities

This week's story is:
Creepy Carrots
written by Aaron Reynolds, illustrated by Peter Brown. Read by the author.  Run Time: 6:57

Discuss:
Who thinks the carrots are creepy? Why?
Why were the carrots happy that Jasper had carried out his plan?

Story Activity:
Make an Alliteration Garden
The name Creepy Carrots repeats the same beginning sound.in both words. This repetition of words with the same beginning sound is called alliteration.

Create a garden using alliteration.  You can start with Creepy Carrots and add a few more, such as... Leafy Lettuce and  Tasty Tomatoes. Can you think of any more fruit or vegetable names? Draw and write your answer.  Here's a handy worksheet to help you out.

Extra:
Peter Brown, the illustrator of Creepy Carrots has some free printable coloring pages on his website.
